Charleston County is seeking public comments to spend money collected from the 2016 Half-Cent Sales Tax on proposed Savannah Highway Intersection Improvements to include adding a turning lane on Nicholson Street.

Next Wednesday, August 24th, the Byrnes Downs Neighborhood Association will host an informational meeting at the Blessed Sacrament Church Parish Hall from 5:45 to 7:00 pm.
Because neither the Association or our residents have any final decision making authority to proceed with the above concepts, the meeting will not seek to obtain any group consensus. Instead, the meeting will be informational, covering:

What issues submitted as public comments should be considered and resolved by the County and Department of Revenue before proceeding with the project?
Please understand that the County has not provided any more information that what is in the above online meeting to the Board, so many questions will need to be submitted to the County through the public comment process.
I have invited representatives from the Diocese of Charleston, Ed Kronsberg, Brantley Moody and Kylon Middleton as well. The Diocese and Mr. Kronsberg owns the parcel of property which will be demolished to realign Avondale Avenue. Brantley Moody and Kylon Middleton each represent a portion of Byrnes Downs on Charleston County Council.
